Acceptance of terms

By downloading or using the Clypt application, the user unreservedly accepts these Terms of Service. Use of the application constitutes full and complete acceptance.

If the user does not accept these terms, they must stop using the application.

Service description

Clypt is a mobile application for backing up and personally organizing digital content: links, videos, images, files, notes and to-do lists.

The application follows the local-first principle: all data is stored exclusively on the user's device. Afinov SARL does not consult or access the saved content.

Optional, user-enabled services complete the application: Google Drive backup and multi-device sync (both end-to-end encrypted, unreadable by Afinov), as well as on-device Intelligence features. Some advanced features are part of the Clypt Premium subscription (see below).

Clypt Premium subscription

Clypt's core is free. Some advanced features, on-device Intelligence, multi-device sync, personalization, advanced search, recurring reminders, are bundled into the Clypt Premium subscription.

  • Billing via Google Play. Purchase, price, taxes, renewal and any refunds are handled by Google Play under its own terms. The applicable price is shown in the app before any purchase.
  • Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically at term, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your Google Play account (Subscriptions section). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the already-paid period.
  • Graceful downgrade. On expiry, the app reverts to free features with no data loss: your clypts, collections and notes remain accessible.

As the digital content is supplied immediately, by starting the subscription you acknowledge waiving your right of withdrawal for the part already performed, within the limits set by applicable law. Google Play's terms prevail for everything related to billing.

User responsibility

The user is solely and entirely responsible for:

  • The content they save, organize or consult through Clypt.
  • The use they make of the application.
  • Respecting intellectual property rights attached to the saved content.
  • Complying with the laws and regulations of their country.

The user undertakes not to use Clypt to save, organize or share illegal content, content infringing third-party rights, or any content contrary to the applicable laws.

Limitation of Liability

Afinov SARL provides the Clypt application "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

Afinov SARL shall not be liable for:

  • Any data loss resulting from incorrect use of the application.
  • Any software malfunction, bug, or service interruption.
  • The inability to restore data from a backup.
  • The loss or forgetting of the PIN code by the user, resulting in the permanent irrecoverability of encrypted data.
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to the use of the application.
The user is solely responsible for keeping their PIN code safe. Afinov SARL has no technical means to recover encrypted data in the event of a lost PIN, this is precisely what guarantees your privacy.
Google Drive backup and multi-device sync are provided as optional services. Their availability depends on third-party services and cannot be guaranteed by Afinov SARL.
The Intelligence features (summaries, OCR, search by meaning) produce results generated automatically on the device, provided "as is". They may be incomplete or inaccurate and do not constitute advice or verified information; the user remains responsible for verifying them.

Intellectual property

The Clypt application, its name, logo, design and source code are the exclusive property of Afinov SARL and are protected by the applicable intellectual property laws.

Content saved by the user through Clypt remains the property of its respective authors. Afinov SARL claims no rights over such content.

In short: Clypt requires no account, collects no data by default, and all your clypts remain on your phone.

Changes to these Terms

Afinov SARL reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on this page.

The user will be notified of substantial changes through an in-app notification.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by Ivorian law, in accordance with Afinov SARL's registered office.

In the event of a dispute, the parties undertake to seek an amicable resolution before any court action.
